Sandcreek Township Conservation Club is a 501(c)(3) is a non-profit organization incorporated on 8/9/2004.
The purpose of the Sandcreek Township Conservation Club, Inc. is to conserve, preserve, restore and
manage the game, fish and other wildlife and its habitat; to seek to procure improved hunting and fishing for landowners and sportsmen; to promote the interest in hunting, marksmanship, archery, and fishing; and to
encourage and educate its members and the general public in the principles of safety. The Club will strive to educate youth and adults through its programs and facilities.
Meetings are the first Wednesday of every month starting at 6pm. Dinner starts at around 6:30pm and is a pitch-in. Sometimes meat is provided by the club and members bring sides or desserts. Sometimes it's a casserole or soup night.
Plates, plasticware and napkins are provided. Water and soda is available at a minimal cost.
The biggest fund raiser the club has is the gun raffle at the 4-H fair. All members are expected to take some of the raffle
tickets to try and sell. Members also take shifts to sell tickets each night of the Fair. During the Fair our club also works at the Fish Fry booth and volunteers are requested to help cook, take orders, clean tables, etc.
We also participate in other events during the year.
Several times a year members get together and do a roadside cleanup of nearby roads. This is usually on a Saturday and everything is provided. We appreciate anyone
who can help with this.
There are also other opportunities to volunteer around the club. Members help cook, mow the lawn, trim weeds, clean the interior & exterior of the building, range cleanup, help with Hunter
Ed classes, etc. Adults can choose the activities they are interested in helping with on the back of the New Member Form. Younger children can help with a parent.
Behind the range berm is a small lake and picnic area.
You’re welcome to use this area to fish or picnic. If you are going to use that area please open the sign at the start of the driveway that leads to the range. If you are going to use the range please be sure there is no one at
the lake/picnic area.
There are barrels and target stands on the right side of the range. You’ll need to bring your own cardboard and targets. Please put everything back where you found it and clean up your trash and brass. There is to be no
shooting from the club building porch. Maximum distance from the range is 100 yards. Please read the range rules for more info.
Members are welcome to rent the building for personal events. Please contact Harry Stephenson
at 812-374-6663 or send an email to info@sandcreekconservationclub.org.
We send out a newsletter once a month. Please include at least one email account for whoever in your family would like to receive it.
All members of the Sandcreek Conservation Club can also go to the Conservation
Council meetings. Ron Briner can give you more info if you are interested in attending.
